Disaster Recovery
Technology and services for restoring systems, data, and connectivity after a disruptive event.
Buying context
Why it matters
Backups alone do not prove that the bank can resume important services on time. Recovery design must match business priorities, dependencies, staffing, and the conditions actually exercised in tests.
Due diligence
Questions to ask
- Which recovery-time and recovery-point commitments apply to each contracted service?
- When was a full restoration last completed from isolated backups, and what did the test omit?
- How does the recovery design address identity, telecommunications, vendor, and facility dependencies?
- What evidence and remediation tracking will the bank receive after each exercise or invocation?
